Kani Cheese Sticks

The first item on our food agenda are Kani Cheese Sticks.

It's a popular dish served in one of the best Japanese restaurants in the South called Omakase. It's main ingredient is imitation crab meat in the form of sticks, better known as Kani. You can buy at any grocery store in the frozen foods section. You'll also need roasted seaweed, also know as Nori and cheddar cheese.

You wrap the crab sticks and cheese in the Nori and seal it with egg wash. Coat the finished rolls in more egg and slightly cover them in flour. Then fry in oil over low heat for about 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

You have the option to create your own sauce to go with them but we recommend a light wasabi mayo.

Refer to the photos below as a guide for when you want to try it yourself at home.

Happy eating!
